Fall is almost here in Minnesota. The season of change. School starts, temperatures drop, and leaves fall. And some of our favorite home and garden events return. So, before you pull out your sweaters and warm jackets, check out this list and visit some of the most popular fall design events.
Bachman’s Fall Ideas House
This season’s transformation of the historic Backman’s home on Lyndale Avenue is called “Rustic Meets Refined.” Designers have painted, furnished, and decorated the entire house with their signature mix of new items, repurposed pieces, and a touch of vintage in order to tell a story of seasonal and spiritual renewal.
Hirshfield’s Paints are used throughout the Ideas House. The #1 asked question at the Ideas House is…what is that paint color?
The Fall Ideas House is open seven days a week, September 10 through October 4, 2015. Tickets cost $5, with a portion of the proceeds going to this year’s charity, Girls on the Run, a nonprofit organization focused on empowering girls as they discover their own physical and spiritual strength.
Fall Parade of Homes
The Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) presents the 67th Fall Parade of Homes with 390 new homes to tour all across the extended metro region. All are free to tour with the exception of four Dream Homes that request a $5.00 donation, which helps the BATC Foundation build and remodel homes for area families in need.
There are a total of 32 homes priced under $300,000; 61 homes priced in the $300,000s; 77 in the $400,000s; 75 in the $500,000s; and 43 homes priced over $1,000,000. The total value of all homes on the tour is $237,553,461.
The Fall Parade of Homes opens on September 12 and runs through October 4, with the BATC holding its Remodelers Showcase (63 homes) on the last weekend, October 2-4.
Coastal Chic is the inspiration for this year’s ASIC MN Showcase Home. The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID MN) has created this interior design event for the past 18 years, with 17 tour dates and 11 special events this year. The home paint was donated by Benjamin Moore, and you can buy tickets at select Hirshfield’s locations.
The ASID MN Showcase Home is open Wednesday-Sunday between September 19 and October 11. General tour tickets cost $15 in advance $20 at the door.
Homes By Architects Tour
The annual Homes By Architects tour showcases 20 new and remodeled homes designed by AIA Minnesota residential architects. The Homes by Architects Tour was created 8 years ago to showcase how working with an architect can transform ordinary living spaces into responsive, tailored, domestic environments using a variety of design solutions and give visitors a chance to speak directly with the designing architect of each home.
The Homes By Architects Tour is September 19 and 20, from 10:00am to 5:00pm both days.
