Paint Colors Inspired by Spring Break

It’s spring break season, and if my Facebook friends are any indication, throngs of Midwesterners are heading south to warmer climates and sandy beaches. When you’re at the seashore, it’s wonderful to get away from the hustle and bustle of dreary, blah, cold life here in the Midwest. The warm sunshine, sand between your toes, fresh ocean air—it’s an entirely sensational experience and pretty much the opposite of what we’re dealing with here at home! Even the décor at the beach is different, with bright colors of aqua to coral, and plenty of beach-themed accessories. If you love that vibe, you incorporate it into your décor once you’re home.

When it comes to paint, you can add some pops of “beach” colors into your space. This entryway is full of color and vitality. Perhaps the homeowner, who happens to be from Minnesota, was attracted to these colors after going to the beach?

This bedroom feels very energy-infused—I love the sandy walls with the bright ceiling—and those Roman shades pull the entire room together.

If you want your bedroom to be a getaway retreat with a hint of beach, the jade green color of this room feels fresh and nature-inspired. The shell accessories on the side tables can make you feel like you’re at the beach once again.

Speaking of accessories, pillows and throws are a great way to add in a pop of your favorite beach hue—like coral. This coral throw adds a pop of color while the light blue on the chairs remind you of the sea.

If you’re unsure about having a beach theme in the main rooms of your home, you can always add those touches to a bathroom. This one uses a great aqua color on the walls and pops of avocado for a subtle beach feel.

When you’re back from spring break, you may want to hang onto those memories and even incorporate some beach colors into your space. By using some paint and finding the right accessories, you can bring the ocean life atmosphere back home with you to enjoy year round.
