If you’re not familiar with Thibaut, they offer over 50 books in their wallpaper library. Each collection contains a distinct group of designs by themes such as traditional, nautical, stripes or toile. Also, included in the offering are papers, vinyls, natural textures, and lovely fabrics.
Here are the top four patterns from their best-selling book Texture Resource Vol. 3:
…the Jubilee Collection by Thibaut is chic gathering of patterns and colors sure to inspire. Painted in pastoral hues, worldly motifs are translated upon sleek, tactile grounds in a great array of textures, shapes and styles.
Jubilee Collection is Thibaut’s newest wallcovering (and fabric book) hot off the press…so hot, it is not due into our stores until next week.
The color palette offers a wide range from neutrals to refreshing brights. You’ll find classics like the ikat, trellis, and an updated antique crewel pattern. Throw a monkey into the mix and you’ll have a chinoiserie wallpaper gracing your bathroom walls. Read the rest of this entry »
Here are some fun fabrics that caught my eye at Hirshfield’s Design Resource showroom. Offerings from Kravet, Duralee, and Thibaut to name a few. Read the rest of this entry »
Celebrating Thibuat’s 125 years in business, the company is honoring its past with a traditional collection of document prints and designs.
Thibaut has taken inspiration from antique documents, embroideries, maps, and textiles gathered from countries around the world; reinterpreting the patterns to reflect the creative and distinct look of a Thibaut wallpaper and fabric. Also, with this collection Thibaut expanded their fabric selections which coordinate and complement the wallcovering offerings.
The books have arrived and are in the stores ready and waiting for your perusal. Call your “home” store and make certain they have the book on hand. Customers check out the books and not all the stores have the same books.
Congratulations Thibaut on 125 years in business!
Have you noticed the presence of chevron and herringbone designs in home decor and fashion? Rugs, flooring, fabric, wallcovering, handbags; that zig zag is all over. It knows no boundaries, mixing it up with every style.
The difference between chevron and herringbone? From Things That Inspire …a chevron style floor, where the planks are set on the diagonal, and meet in a center line. On the right, the herringbone pattern, where the planks are also set on a diagonal, but interlace.
Things That Inspire and Door Sixteen have some gorgeous chevron and herringbone floors. The wide plank chevron, ooh-la-la. I don’t think I have ever seen a herringbone or chevron hardwood floor in Minnesota. Are they out there?
I’m not quite finished with chevron and herringbone. I have some good looking DIY projects that might pique your interest, which I will share in another post.
Do you have any herringbone or chevron in your home? Share a photo as we would love to see how you are using this pattern.
It is classic and luxurious. Velvet is re-emerging as a popular selection for upholstery, bedding, accent pillows, and draperies. Has it ever gone out of style? I think not. For centuries, royalty could only afford the fabric and it wasn’t until the industrial revolution that the common folk could afford this glamorous and durable fabric. Cut, pile, tufted, silk or cotton, how do you like your velvet? Be inspired.
Hirshfield’s Design Studio is a great resource for velvets and they also offer a fabricated headboard program. Stop in and see the samples on display in the showroom.
If you’re interested, here is a link from Kravet Fabric on how the different variations of velvet are made.

It was manna from heaven when I received today’s e-mail from Thibaut introducing the Shangri-la Collection. The room sets in this collection are the best I have seen from Thibaut. I always love a little mix and matching of design styles to keep it fresh.

I’m looking forward to seeing all the colorways offered for the wallcovering and the decorative tapes. I would think Thibaut will be selling the tapes.
The design studio has all the sample rolls, but the books have not been received in our stores. I’m hoping the books will arrive soon so customers can take advantage of the April wallcovering sale. Please contact one of our stores for details on the wallcovering sale.
The lovely Miss Erin, from House of Turquoise, did a compilation of Thibaut wallpapers a few weeks back….and since we have Thibaut papers on sale for the month of April I thought I’d take advantage of Erin’s hard work
If you are not familiar with Erin’s site, it is all about her love of turquoise. Her site will soothe your soul on those crazy days when all your worlds collide. She hails from Minnesota and is an international star in the world of decor with House of Turquoise. Her site will not disappoint.
Now back to the business of the Thibaut sale:
I was contacted by one of the wallpaper vendors and was asked to remove the sale discounts, as it goes against their policy. Please contact one of our locations or send me an e-mail with any questions. In a whispered voice, “it’s a really good sale.”
As always we appreciate your patronage and your support of a local business.
Images from Chinoiserie Chic
Chinoiserie is one of my all time favorite words…I like how it looks on paper and I love the way it sounds (sheen-waz-a-ree). Chinoiserie, according to Webster, is a style that reflects Chinese qualities or motifs, an object or decoration. Europe fell in love with the Asian influence of China and Japan in the early to mid 18th century.
Beth Connolly pens the blog, Chinoiserie Chic, where she shares her love of Chinoiserie and design. Lucky for us, Beth is showcasing her top 10 Chinoiserie wallpapers and her picks are very shareworthy.
You can appreciate the timeless beauty of these papers, even if this design style is not your favorite. Chinoiserie designs make a huge impact. These papers look great in foyers, powder rooms, bedrooms, walk-in closets, or framed out with molding creating a piece of artwork. A little Chinoiserie goes a long way.
Chinoiserie wallpapers are found in a number of the Hirshfield’s wallpaper books. Browse on your own or let the sales staff get you started in the right direction. Unable to find the paper that speaks to you, the design studio has a great collection of higher end books for your viewing pleasure.
For the month of April, Thibaut papers are 25% off everyday pricing, plus save an additional 10% off, plus free shipping on domestic ground. Now that’s a sale! Thibaut Wallcovering offers the high-end look, without the high-end price tag, and the majority of our retail stores carry the Thibaut books.
