In the fashion world accessories make the difference between an ensemble of desperate pieces and what is know as an outfit, a grouping of pieces that seamlessly belong together. I am sure we could discuss at length what accessory is the most important. Is it the belt or the jewelry or the shoes? In the end they all work together for the greater good of the whole. Fashion for the home isn’t any different. Without adding the finishing accessories of window coverings, art, lighting and paint, the furniture stands alone.
Recently I moved into a new office space with amazing eastern exposure. The sun pours through the windows in the morning! I thought I could maybe get by without window coverings because the light was so refreshing. After a few months, I gave in and hung a simple blind to modulate the light but it also completed the room! With the simple addition of window covering the room acquired a finished look. The window covering was the missing accessory to complete the outfit and what an easy way to pull the room together.
